The White Queen

It’s 1464 and England has been at war for nine years due to the bloody War of the Roses between the House of York and the House of Lancaster over who is the country's true king. Young Edward IV, heir to the House of York, is crowned king with help from master manipulator Lord Warwick who has a plan to control the throne, but the plan comes crashing down when Edward falls in love with Lancastrian commoner Elizabeth Woodville. A violent struggle for the crown ensues between Woodville, adversary Margaret Beaufort and Anne Neville, a pawn in her father's power game.

Chapter 1

1. Chapter 1

Elizabeth Woodville's husband has been killed fighting for deposed Lancastrian King Henry VI and her wealth has been confiscated. Her only hope is to try to catch the eye of her family's greatest enemy, York King Edward IV.

Elizabeth's coronation ends up being a very grand affair. She and her mother Jacquetta marry off her siblings to the nobility to secure their family's future, and create a royal family loyal to Edward as he attempts to bring peace to England.

Margaret joins Warwick's rebellion against Edward. When the rebellion fails the traitors are forced to flee for their lives. Jasper Tudor goes into exile, while others go to France. Elizabeth and Jacquetta turn to witchcraft to try and stop them.

Elizabeth feels troubled after hearing the news of Isabel and George's dead son. Rumors begin to surface that Margaret of Anjou plans to restore her husband Henry VI to the throne. George is not happy as it means that he will now never be king.

Warwick is dubious of George's loyalty so sends Isabel back to England to keep him on side. Edward rides to meet Margaret of Anjou, who has the nervous Anne Neville in her company, and he defeats Margaret and Jasper at the battle of Tewkesbury.

Elizabeth faces a difficult future as everything she holds close is threatened. Anne is upset that she is not allowed to contact her mother in exile and feels that George and Isabel are controlling her every move. Elizabeth's new baby son is born.

Elizabeth loses her child after giving birth but after he is handed to Margaret Beaufort he comes alive in her hands so Elizabeth thinks that Margaret has saved him. Anne also gives birth to a baby boy, and is living happily away from court.

Edward suddenly becomes extremely ill and he names his brother Richard as Lord Protector on his deathbed. Elizabeth is devastated following his death as she is no longer queen and her fortunes have now gone.

The Princes In The Tower

9. The Princes In The Tower

Worried about his enemies, King Richard III honors Brackenbury, Buckingham and Stanley. Unconvinced that Elizabeth's threat is over, Anne secretly talks to Brackenbury behind her husband's back, wishing the princess in the tower dead.

The Final Battle

10. The Final Battle

Queen Anne Neville's health is beginning to fade fast. After her son Prince Edward passes away and she hears of her husband's love for Princess Elizabeth, she knows that she is ready to die. Margaret thanks God that her son is declared king.
